I am trying to figure out at what age kids can best learn to speak another language. I know that it works well to have one parent speak one language and another speak a second language so that they grow up learning both. Unfortunately, neither of us is fluent in another language, so we would need to find some sort of class our daughter could attend, or videos or a computer program. Can kids learn German? My grandmother speaks German and I am sure she would really appreciate it if my daughter made the effort to learn a bit of her language.
