I remember the days when I was a child and I got the new pair of shoes with Velcro fasteners.  I loved those shoes because I did not have to get my mom to tie my shoes for me.  So when I saw a pair of Jordan 1 shoes at the store with similar Velcro fasteners I had to get them.  It was like a way of saying I have a new independence.  I am doing things on my own and I also am wearing a shoe that is a throwback to my childhood.  Plus I like the way they look.
