Is this really logical and is it even possible to rank for a site on top of Google that fast? It would obviously depend on what keyword they are going after, right?

I agree. In fact, their whole guarantee was based on the fact that the customer had to follow the system for 45 days and if they did not get the promised top ranking, they’d get their money back.

The system taught how to do propper keyword research, so their whole “top 10 in 45 days” claim all of a sudden started to make sense.  At least it did to me!
