My family is filled with lots of traditions and we are hard-pressed to ever change any of them, especially when it comes to the family owned business that has been handed down to me. The family has always used skinner valves and always will. The manufacturer seems to take pride in their product and we have never had a problem of any kind with these valves. So as my father says, why would you ever change perfection? These valves are perfect and there will never be a need to purchase any other kind as long as family business has its doors open.
